Reporting a Covid Case
SAMS Academy works closely with NMDOH and NMPED to ensure all of our students are safe when we have a positive case. Please click below if your child has tested positive for Covid.
Does my student need to quarantine?
If your student has been informed they are a close contact (either from a schoolmate or outside of school), please fill out the following form. This will help make a determination of return date.
Test to Stay Program
With the rising numbers of COVID cases, SAMS Academy is doing all it can to keep students and staff safe at school.
The Test to Stay program allows unvaccinated and partially vaccinated employees and students exposed to Covid-19 at the school building to stay at work/school as long as they test negative in the days that follow. Students can also participate in school activities, sports, and clubs.
Unvaccinated close contacts individuals have two options:
Option 1) The Test to Stay program – allows students/staff to remain in school with negative test results
Option 2) Individuals opting not to participate in Test to Stay must quarantine at home
Eligible students whose families have opted into the Test to Stay program must take a rapid, shallow, nasal swab test at the school in the days following exposure to COVID. Tests are administered by a trained professional. As long as they test negative, they can stay at school. Families are able to register their students for this free program at any time.
Please see below instructions on how to register your student(s) for the program.
